Everything you need to know about Schörl Air Filters, performance, and maintenance.
A check engine light may occasionally flash after installing a performance air filter or intake system, but this does not mean your Schörl filter is malfunctioning. Because our filters dramatically enhance combustion efficiency and airflow, they can sometimes bring to light pre-existing mechanical, vacuum, or electronic sensor issues already present in the vehicle.
No. The MAF sensor relies entirely on the air filter as its primary line of defense. However, blocked, low-quality, or improperly oiled generic filters can allow microscopic debris past them, leading to sensor contamination. Schörl’s precision engineering ensures optimal protection—meaning regular, clean maintenance of your Schörl filter actually safeguards your MAF sensor and prolongs engine life.
We leave nothing to guesswork. Schörl air filters are rigorously evaluated using the standardized ISO 5011 laboratory test process. Most Schörl filters pass this testing benchmark with an exceptional 99% dust filtration efficiency, successfully trapping microscopic particles ranging from 1 to 2.5 microns.
Engine breakdown directly caused by an air filter is highly unlikely. Like any vital vehicle component, air filters require periodic checks and maintenance. To prove our durability, Schörl filters have been tested across extreme conditions:
- Personal Fleet: Tested on private vehicles for over 3 years and 50,000+ KM with zero engine damage.
- Heavy Commercial Trial: Tested across reputed Regional Transport Corporation buses driven from 4.5 lakh to 11 lakh KM, with individual on-road tests lasting 1.5 lakh KM per bus—resulting in zero engine damage.
No. Schörl filters are custom-engineered, replacement-fit/retrofit filters designed specifically for exact vehicle makes and models. Do not force installation if a filter does not neatly slide into your vehicle’s factory airbox. Misfits happen only if filters are forced, mismatched, or altered from their designated applications. Always check our vehicle compatibility lookup before purchasing.
Can the Schörl Filter void my engine warranty?
Vehicle manufacturers recommend OEM parts and are protective of warranty claims during active windows. While aftermarket performance filters do not automatically void warranties by law, manufacturers may occasionally dispute claims if an add-on causes a direct mechanical failure. For total peace of mind, we advise customers to install and experience Schörl air filters on vehicles that have crossed their initial factory warranty period.
